Island House

The Island House Series was created in response to the arduous yet rewarding task of building a house on a remote barrier island. Lacking a bridge, Dog Island Florida is a logistical challenge. Building the house myself, faced with these difficulties, engendered a sense of perseverance and accomplishment. It also became an homage to my deceased father, a tradesman, who passed away when I was a boy. Though I had a dysfunctional relationship with my father, who was a troubled soul, I forgave him as a result of this experience.
